Why is it that people who use email every single day, still have no idea how to properly write one so as not to annoy the hell out of the people receiving it?
Let me break it to you folks, the idea of an email is very simple, it is to get a message across to the person reading it. Here is the problem, idiots inundate emails with useless crap which may look fantastic to them, but really do nothing at all for the recipient.
An email is not meant to look pretty to the person sending it; it’s meant to look presentable to the person receiving it.
Here are some simple tips you can follow, so as to not look like an incompetent baboon.
1. Lay off of the big text.
Big text is absolutely useless. Look, some of you cant read normal size text, like size 12, so you know what you should do? DECREASE THE RESOLUTION ON YOUR MONITOR.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, THERE IS NO REASON TO HAVE SIZE 30 FONT IN AN EMAIL.
I can’t tell you how many emails I get form people who use an obnoxiously large font, that allows 3 words per line. Look, if you cant read the inane sh!t you clog my inbox with, please, at least make it so it doesn’t give me a headache.
2. Text in all caps is downright annoying.
Most people realize that USING ALL CAPITAL LETTERS IN ANY WRITTEN FORM IS JUST OBNOXIOUS.
See, when you use capital letters, it makes the reader feel like they are being yelled at. The best part about people who use all caps, is that they never have anything useful to say.
Observe:
HI, HOW WAS YOUR DAY? I LOVE PUPPIES AND CANDY CORN! TODAY I ORGANIZED MY SOCK COLLECTION IN ORDER OF SIZE, ELASTICITY AND FABRIC!
See, that is a completely innocent, useless statement, but when it’s in all caps, the message is lost.
3. Email stationary. WHY?!
 Email stationary is anything but simple
Every single one of you who use email has come across this at some point. There is absolutely no reason, ever, to use stationary on your email. What does it add? Most of it is so completely irrelevant to the message you’re sending, that not only is it annoying and clutters up my workspace, but it takes away from the message you’re trying to get across. Of course, the people who usually use email stationary really don’t have anything important to say anyway.
4. This is not a sms text message, stop with the stupid abbreviations.
This really requires no additional text.
You have a full keyboard, and perhaps 10 brain cells left. Do yourself a favor, put those 10 together and form a complete sentence.
OMG OK LOL!!! TTYL L8R!

This shorthand has a place, email is not one of them. Learn to type…
5. Choose a font that can be read.
This is two fold. The first, font color. Why the heck are you using a bright red font on your periwinkle stationary? Do you know how annoying that is??! If you want to be an artist, go be like van gogh, use acid and cut your ears off.
Stop subjecting me to this torture.
The second, are fonts that are just plain impossible to see, like cursive fonts.
Fonts were made popular by computers because they were easy to read… and somehow, we have gone backwards.

See the last font? No one really wants to read it, it may look fancy to
you, but we’re not in ancient times, and we’re not writing this on
papayrus.

I realize that emails can be personalized and that people want to express themselves. I’m all for that, but please, use some common sense and self restraint.
