It is January 20, 2008. It is -1 degrees Fahrenheit, on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. There are 72,000 fans in attendance and millions watching at home. Though the crowd is saturated with green and yellow, it is the history of the stadium that will strike fear in even the savviest of veterans. The ghost of Vince Lombardi seems to haunt the sidelines, and only one man seems to exude confidence and demonstrate a mastery of the situation
Year
After
Year.
That man understands what hangs in the balance as he prepares to lead his team to victory. He knows that the winner of this game between his 13-3 Green Bay Packers and the wild card New York Giants will face the undefeated New England Patriots in what will soon be one of the most historical Super Bowls of all time.
That man is confident he understands what the opponent is capable of doing on this night, his final night in this stadium. His stadium, which will one day enshrine his memory.
More importantly, the man is positive he understands what he is capable of doing on this night, the final night of his legacy.
 Master of the Elements
Brett Favre is a leader and a winner. He will be remembered as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Like NFL icons John Elway and Joe Montana, Brett Favre had always left all of his blood, sweat, and tears on the grass before the final whistle had sounded. He never gave up--never surrendered, and like the Goonies, he never said “die.” Brett Favre has the will of a leader, and the heart of a champion.
 A Green and Gold Image
Can I just cut off the rant right here? I mean, do I need to go any further? I prefer to forget about the whiney piece of complain that emerged early this summer. Who keeps convincing this retired legend to come back to the NFL? Why can’t he just ride off into the sunset in legendary fashion? I mean does anyone honestly believe he still wants to win a Super Bowl?
Do we need to bring up the uncomfortable fact that he actually LOST the game I am referring to in the above paragraph? Do we have to bring up that he LOST at home to Eli Manning, who last year just posted his lowest passer rating since his rookie season? Should we discuss that it was actually Eli Manning that didn’t throw an interception the entire game, and it was actually Brett Favre who threw the interception in overtime which effectively lead to a game losing 47 yard field goal by Lawrence Tynes!
Everything that has a beginning has an end
Look, I love Brett Favre, but GO AWAAAAAAAAAAY.
Just retire, you’ve earned it!
We don’t want to see you become Vinny Testaverde. We don’t want to see you become Joe Montana with the Chiefs. We remember when John Elway won the Super Bowl and was carried off the field with his index finger pointing toward the heavens, where he will be remembered for all football eternity.
That’s what we want for you Brett Favre. We don’t want to hear about how you called up the Minnesota Vikings looking for a job because you don’t like the management in Green Bay. We don’t want to hear about how you were offered twenty million dollars by the Packer organization to retire and enjoy legendary status. We don’t want to hear these things.
 Years of the best tutoring
Aaron Rodgers is ready to play. He’s waited patiently without any complaining for all of his career. Last year he played in two games and posted an average QB Rating of 103. He did not throw any interceptions. Instead of getting the opportunity to prove himself in the NFL he deserves, he will spend the first few games of a difficult schedule feeling the pressure of your return. All of his decisions will now be dissected by coaches, management, fans, and analysts, as they compare his every move to you, a NFL Hall of Fame quarterback.
Or maybe the Packers will trade Brett Favre, and he will begin his quest toward Joe Montana/Kansas City status.
I just have to ask why? Why must you return Brett? You had it all. We know you don’t want that second Super Bowl. If you did, why would you tool around with retiring every year? If you did, you would have wanted it more than the New York Giants.
I just refuse to believe that you really wanted that Super Bowl Brett. If you did, you would have never lost. I truly believe that. A lot of us truly believe that.
Let us continue to believe that you are that champion of character, hard work, and heart that we’ve seen throughout your career. Let us believe that the Super Bowl is what matters most, not money and playing time like every other conceited prima donna-cry baby in football.
We love what you’ve stood for Brett Favre.
We still love you.
Please walk away before it’s too late.
