I am completely confident in my recent endorsement of Tropic Thunder as the new “funniest movie I have ever seen.” I can’t remember the last time I have laughed that hard during a movie.
I laughed hard at Wedding Crashers.
I laughed hard at Dodgeball.
After this Saturday night, the comedic effect of Tropic Thunder overpowers the two movies that immediately came to mind. The Hollywood satire is filled with so many memorable quotes that I am reminded of the days of “Dumb and Dumber.”
I laughed so loud I was embarrassed. My belly laughs saturated the theater to the point where I sounded like a constipated hyena and I was shamed.
Words cannot describe
There is no way for me to describe this movie to you. All I can say is that this movie is the very definition of irrational and chaotic success. It humor based entirely on the movies lack of function or explanation. There is nothing political or even correct about the film, which parodies and mocks stereotypes and inhibitions. The plot is unadulterated action, strung together with explosions and the celebration of nonsense.
In fact, it is good to finally see a movie that is not afraid to be funny.
A movie that does not fear censorship.
A movie finally created for the enjoyment of the audience, in spite of the approval of the guild.
So if you are deciding whether to stay in or go out.
Take my advice and do what I did.
Don’t shower.
Don’t change.
But go out and see Tropic Thunder.
